In the role of Tax Manager, you will be presented with exciting opportunities to engage directly with clients and firm management, addressing their inquiries, assisting with tax planning, and handling various business matters. This will involve the review of advanced business and individual tax returns, as well as conducting estimates and year-end tax planning. As part of your responsibilities, you will conduct thorough research on tax issues and prepare well-structured research memos.

Additionally, your keen eye for detail will be essential in identifying, assessing, and promptly escalating any tax-related concerns to the Engagement Lead. A significant aspect of your role will involve collaboration with client team members, establishing rapport, and nurturing strong client relationships. This collaborative approach will contribute to the overall success of our engagements and the satisfaction of our valued clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical review.
  • Help clients prepare and file tax returns, manage tax audits, and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Develop and maintain tax plans, compliance procedures, and risk assessment frameworks, to ensure effective tax management.
  • Facilitate delivery of effective approaches to our clients’ tax needs.
  • Maintain and develop client relationships and contribute to the development of new business opportunities.
  • Build and lead multiple engagement teams effectively to consistently meet ABIP standards of excellence.
  • Identifying, tracking, and reporting any potential financial risks or issues and working closely with the accounting teams to implement appropriate solutions.
  • Conduct a thorough analysis of taxes to provide expert advice on tax planning.
  • Provide guidance and support to stakeholders on financial issues, including tax implications of business decisions and transactions.
  • Maintain documentation and records related to tax filings, provisions, and other tax-related activities.
  • Stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business discipline
  • Minimum of six (6) years of Tax experience in a public accounting firm with demonstrated supervisory experience
  • CPA certification required
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • A collaborative approach to management
  • Experience managing multiple client engagements and managing the performance of engagement teams
  • Demonstrated project management skills
