What you can expect in your role

  • Handle the complete accounting cycle for 6-8 monthly clients
  • Produce income statement/profit & loss
  • Produce balance sheets
  • Generate all entries to do the above functions
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Reconcile all bank accounts
  • Perform bank reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
  • Conduct regular audits to identify discrepancies or errors in financial records
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements
  • Provide support during external audits or reviews
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices

Skills we would need you to bring to the role

  • Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping principles and practices
  • Proficient in using QuickBooks and MS Office Suite (especially Excel)
  • Familiarity with corporate accounting, tax regulations, technical accounting, governmental accounting, and
  • GAAP
  • Complete understanding of chart of accounts and can edit/modify as necessary
  • Complete understanding of the trial balance
  • Understands AR, AP, Fixed Assets, and can prepare appropriate entries
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team environment with the willingness to step in and help other team members get the job done

Education and experience we would need you to bring to the role

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper
  • 5+ years of balancing general ledger, preparing financial statements, account reconciliations, A/P, and A/R
