By becoming a Family Sponsor, ABIP adopted eight special families totaling 68 family members in all! – Five of the families were single-mom households.
One of the more exciting aspects of this program is that the employees had the opportunity to talk to the parents and find out their children’s names, ages, sizes, favorite things, colors, and interests so the items we purchased would truly be the perfect gifts!
Through generous contributions, we raised enough funds to purchase not only complete outfits, shoes, and winter jackets for all 68 family members, but we were also able to purchase the requested toys, books and games, and many other special needed items such as:
- Microwaves
- Strollers
- Dinnerware
- Pots and Pans Set
- Bedding
- Appliances
One child’s special wish was to walk across his graduation stage in a suit like his peers. We were able to provide a little “Christmas Magic” and get him the perfect suit for his big day.
Besides being able to select and lovingly wrap each of the gifts, our employees were able to deliver them to each of the families and share the joy of giving. The experience of giving back to the community was very emotional and one of gratitude.
