Melissa Ryan

Melissa Ryan, CPA is a Partner at abip, based in the firm’s New Braunfels office, where she focuses on tax services with an emphasis on State and Local Tax (SALT). Licensed in both California and Texas, she joined the firm in August.

Professional Background

Prior to joining abip, Melissa served as a Managing Director at a national tax firm, where she led the State and Local Tax: Income/Franchise Tax division. In that role, she was responsible for overseeing annual tax return compliance and related tax matters for clients across the United States, with a strong focus on Income and Franchise Tax for multistate businesses.

Her experience is centered on corporate and partnership taxation, with significant expertise in Forms 1120, consolidated 1120 filings, and 1065s, along with complex multistate tax issues and compliance requirements. Melissa began her career with a Big Four accounting firm in its State and Local Tax practice, where she built a strong foundation in SALT, before transitioning to a national firm and expanding her expertise to encompass both federal and state tax matters.

Education and Associations

Melissa holds a B.S. in Business Administration, with a dual concentration in Accounting and Finance, from Sonoma State University.

Melissa is a member of the AICPA and TXCPA and recently joined the New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce.
