Edgar Vargas-Castaneda

Edgar Vargas-Castaneda is the Director of Transaction Advisory Services at abip. With a strong background in transaction strategy, financial diligence, and post-merger integration, Edgar is known for his ability to navigate complex deals and deliver practical, value-driven insights to clients. His extensive experience advising on sophisticated transactions enables him to support organizations through critical growth and transformation initiatives.

Professional Background

Prior to joining abip, Edgar led due diligence and integration activities at a global level for TransPerfect, the world’s largest language services provider. His leadership helped TransPerfect buy and integrate 20+ companies ranging from AI startups to media localization studios. Prior to TransPerfect, Edgar spent 6+ years at EY-Parthenon, supporting integration and divestiture activities across a variety of clients ranging from PE portfolio companies up to Fortune 50.  Industry agnostic, Edgar leverages his experience across automotive, manufacturing, consumer retail and tech to ensure his clients successfully execute on their M&A strategy.

Education and Associations

Edgar holds a Master of Business Administration from Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. He is an active member of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) and the Rice Business Partnership, and is a long-standing Emerge Scholars mentor.
