Chris Meeks, CPA, is a manager at ABIP, P.C. He is responsible for federal and multistate income tax compliance, IRS & state tax controversy, multistate sales & use, property, and international taxation. He has experience in accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC 740. His industry experience extends to family businesses, manufacturing, real estate, oil & gas, investments, technology, pharmaceutical, retail, facility services, medical and dental, software and application development, financial services, professional services, high net-worth individuals, trusts and estates.
Chris Meeks has over ten years of public accounting and industry experience. He has a comprehensive and diverse background in working with clients with tax compliance, planning, and tax controversy issues. During his tenure, Chris has also worked with a Big Four accounting firm as well as smaller firms. Some of Chris’s accomplishments include:
- Helping clients to obtain millions of dollars in sales & use tax refunds.
- Leading a Ready & Available Study for a publicly-traded Fortune 100 company, where we were able to secure income tax savings for more than $50 million for our client.
- Has developed a comprehensive model to assist clients to complete business acquisitions with modules to perform stress testing, forecast future tax liability and cash flows.
- Helping clients to secure hundreds of thousands of dollars in federal income tax credits including research and development credits, work opportunity credits, and various state tax credits.
Education and Associations
Mr. Meeks graduated from University of the Incarnate Word (Magna Cum Laude) with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. His associations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, the San Antonio CPA Society and the TSCPA State Taxation Committee.
Chris is originally from San Antonio where he lives with his wife and three children.
