Matthew “Matt” Goldston, CPA, CVA, CM&AA, CEPA is a Partner, Chief Growth Officer, and Business Advisory Practice Leader at ABIP, P.C.  Matt brings over 30 years of public accounting experience within various roles of practice leadership in Business Advisory.  Matt has spent over half of his career in the Industry as a Private-Equity backed Chief Financial Officer.  During his career, Matt was involved in and furthered many successful transactions, both on the buy and sell side.

Professional Background

Before joining ABIP, Matt focused on growing an Advisory Practice to new heights following the expansion of multiple niches: to include a robust approach to Fractional CFO and Controller Services, Transaction Advisory, Bank Advisory, and Exit Planning, as well as expanding offshore resources allowing clients a full one-stop CAS Offering.  Prior to his return to Public, Matt worked as CFO in Industries such as Construction, Technology, Industrial Services, Transportation/Distribution, Manufacturing, and Oilfield Services.

When not assisting clients through Business Advisory, he loves spending time with his family, serving at his church, and traveling with his wife, adult children, and grandchild(ren).  Matt enjoys golfing and is in the process of training for his first Triathlon in his wonderful community of The Woodlands (Texas).  Matt’s personal passion is in Agri-Tourism and real estate. Matt particularly enjoys time at his Family’s Kona Coffee Farm.

Education and Associations

Mr. Goldston graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance.  Matt enjoys public speaking with varied panels and moderator roles, typically involving M&A or Exit Planning.  Matt writes for Forbes and is on the Forbes Finance Council.  He also serves on the Board of Sky High for Kids and the Board of the Economic Alliance Port Region.  Matt is an active member in multiple associations including the Exit Planning Institute (CEPA), the National Association of Valuation Advisors (CVA), the Association for Corporate Growth, TMA, SFNet, the Alliance for M&A Advisors (CM&AA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA).
